This page explains what personal data SLApp Helpdesk collects — through this website, the application, and the monitoring agent installed on your computers — why, and how you can exercise your rights over it.

Who's responsible for your data

SLApp Helpdesk is operated by Significado Lógico, Lda., based in Amora, Portugal. We're the data controller for everything described on this page. Reach us anytime at info@significado-logico.pt.

What we collect

Your account. When you or your technicians sign in — as a technician or through the client portal — we receive your name and email address from your Microsoft account. Sign-in is handled entirely by Microsoft; we never see or store your password.

The computers you choose to monitor. The agent you install reports: computer name, operating system, local and public IP addresses, CPU/RAM/disk usage, installed software and their versions, Windows Update status, hardware details, the last logged-in user, uptime, and any alert conditions you've configured us to watch for (e.g. the firewall being off, a disk nearly full). We do not collect the contents of your files, your browsing history, or keystrokes.

Support activity. Tickets, comments, and any attachments you or your technicians add to them.

Billing and commercial details. For the company holding the subscription: name, tax number, address, and billing contacts — used to manage the license and invoicing.

Technical logs. Server logs kept for a limited time to diagnose problems and keep the service secure.

The SLApp Vault browser extension

SLApp Vault is a separate, optional personal password manager — for your own accounts, not anything your organization manages. It's end-to-end encrypted: the encryption key is derived on your own device from a master password you choose, which never reaches our servers and which we never see, store, or could reset for you.

What we do store: an encryption salt, a "verifier" value that lets us confirm your master password is correct without ever learning it, your saved entries in encrypted form (we cannot read their contents — not the passwords, not the usernames, not even the website names or titles), and basic device metadata (a label like "Chrome extension" and when it was last used) so you can see and revoke devices linked to your vault.

You can organize entries into folders and choose to share a folder — with specific colleagues, or with everyone at your company automatically. A shared folder stays encrypted so that we can never read it, but it becomes readable by whoever you (or another member) choose to add; removing someone from a shared folder revokes their access for good, not just from future updates.

If you forget your master password, your vault cannot be recovered — by you, by us, or by anyone. There is no "reset password" option for this vault, by design.

Why we process it

To deliver the service you or your organization signed up for (performance of a contract), to keep it secure and working reliably (our legitimate interest), and — only where you've agreed to it, such as optional notification emails — with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising networks or analytics trackers on the service or on this website. Data is shared only with:

  • Microsoft, for identity sign-in and, if you route notification emails through your own Microsoft 365 tenant, for delivering those emails.
  • The infrastructure that hosts our servers, located in Portugal.

Where it's stored

On our own servers, located in Portugal. We don't transfer your data outside the European Economic Area.

How long we keep it

For as long as your subscription is active, plus a limited period afterwards to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Monitoring history (metrics, alerts) is kept for a limited rolling window and pruned automatically to make room for new data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and you can object to how we process it. Write to info@significado-logico.pt and we'll respond within the legal timeframe. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD.

Cookies and local storage

This website doesn't use tracking cookies or analytics. The one third-party request it makes is to Google Fonts, to load the typefaces you're reading right now — Google may log that request, but no cookie is set by it. The application itself uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) to keep you signed in and remember preferences like language and light/dark theme — this is required for the service to work and is never shared with anyone.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever we make a meaningful change, and — for significant changes — let active customers know directly.
